What to Expect During Your Pet’s Surgery

At Orillia Pet Hospital, our focus is always on the safety and comfort of our patients, before, during, and after surgery. That’s why we tailor our anaesthetic to meet your pet’s unique needs, based on their current health status, age, medical history, and the surgical procedure being performed. We also perform a pre-surgical wellness exam that includes pre-anaesthetic blood work to make sure there aren’t any underlying health issues that need to be addressed before surgery.

Your pet will be assigned a registered veterinary technician with extra training in anesthesia and pain management. This RVT will monitor your pet’s vitals and stay with them throughout the entire process, including recovery. When the surgery is complete, we’ll work with you to develop and implement a customized pain management plan to help your companion recover comfortably.
