Pet X-Rays & Diagnostics

They say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and this is especially true when it comes to your pet. Preventing illnesses is the best way to help your companion live a long, happy, healthy life, and that’s exactly what we strive to do at Simcoe Veterinary Hospital. We want all of your canine and feline companions to be healthy through every life stage. That’s why we recommend annual wellness exams. To ensure your pet is receiving care that’s tailored to their age, we also offer several wellness plans that meet all of your pet’s basic health care needs.

Pet X-Rays (Radiography)

X-ray technology allows us to examine your pet internally to detect fractures, foreign bodies, and other conditions. With our digital dental X-ray technology, we can view below your pet’s gum line to detect gum disease and other oral problems. In some cases, an X-ray exam can be combined with an ultrasound exam for the most accurate diagnosis.

Pet Ultrasound

Ultrasound technology allows us to view your pet internally in real-time by using the echoes of sound waves. These echoes create a 3D image of the targeted area of your pet’s body. We offer this service via a traveling veterinary ultrasound technician by appointment only.

Endoscopy

An endoscopic exam involves examining your pet’s esophagus, stomach, and upper intestines non-invasively using a device called a flexible fiber-optic endoscope. This device is inserted into the body through tiny incisions on the body.

Regardless of your pet’s symptoms, our advanced diagnostic tools will help us treat them quickly and have your pet feeling back to normal again as soon as possible. If you need to schedule X-rays for your pet in Orillia, or any other diagnostic exam, give us a call at 705-726-8002.
